Saskatchewan Roughriders vs BC Lions

On July 19, 2025, the Saskatchewan Roughriders marched into BC Place and escaped with a hard-fought 33–27 victory over the BC Lions in a thrilling Week 7 CFL clash. The Roughriders exploded out of the gates, led by veteran quarterback Trevor Harris, who connected with Dohnte Meyers and A.J. Ouellette for early touchdowns. By the end of the first quarter, Saskatchewan held a commanding 17–1 lead, later extending it to 23–11 at halftime with help from kicker Brett Lauther, who nailed multiple field goals including a 45-yarder.

The second half started much like the first, with Harris tossing another touchdown to Meyers, stretching the lead to 30–11. However, BC began to show signs of life, with Nathan Rourke engineering multiple scoring drives. Despite losing running back Ka’Deem Carey to injury in the third quarter, Saskatchewan’s offense remained effective enough to maintain a lead heading into the final stretch.

The Lions mounted a furious late-game rally, with Rourke throwing two touchdowns to Stanley Berryhill III and Ayden Eberhardt adding a score in the final seconds. A pair of successful two-point conversions brought BC within six, but the Riders managed to hold on as time expired. Rourke finished with 337 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Harris led Saskatchewan with 395 yards and three scores of his own.

The win pushed Saskatchewan to 5–1 on the season, solidifying their position atop the West Division, while BC dropped to 3–4 despite a valiant comeback. Linebacker Micah Awe also hit a major milestone with his 500th career defensive tackle. Though the Riders dominated early, the Lions’ late surge turned the game into a must-watch CFL battle — one that reminded everyone just how fast momentum can shift in Canadian football.
