Michigan Panthers vs Birmingham Stallions USFL Conference Championship

On June 8, 2025, the Michigan Panthers delivered a stunning performance in the USFL Conference Championship, defeating the Birmingham Stallions 44–29 at Protective Stadium. This victory not only secured the Panthers a spot in the UFL Championship Game but also ended Birmingham’s quest for a fourth consecutive spring football title.

The Panthers set the tone early with a 3-yard touchdown run by Toa Taua, followed by a successful one-point conversion. Quarterback Bryce Perkins showcased his dual-threat capabilities, contributing both in the air and on the ground. Defensively, Michigan capitalized on opportunities, including a 25-yard pick-six by Kai Nacua and a crucial interception by Arnold Tarpley III in the fourth quarter.

Birmingham mounted a comeback attempt, with Matt Corral leading scoring drives and C.J. Marable adding a rushing touchdown. However, the Panthers’ defense held firm, and Taua’s third rushing touchdown sealed the win.

This historic win marks the first time since 1983 that the Michigan Panthers have defeated the Birmingham Stallions in a spring league postseason game.
