Green Bay initially controlled the scoreboard, with kicker Brandon McManus opening the game with a 43-yard field goal in the second quarter. Quarterback Jordan Love later extended the lead to 10–0 with a 3-yard touchdown pass to tight end John FitzPatrick, giving the Packers what seemed like a comfortable advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
The Browns’ defense stepped up in critical moments, recording four sacks and forcing a key turnover late in the game. Safety Grant Delpit intercepted a pass from Love with just over three minutes remaining and returned it 25 yards to the Packers’ 4-yard line. This pivotal play set up rookie running back Quinshon Judkins’ 1-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game at 10–10.
Green Bay had a chance to reclaim the lead, but their 43-yard field goal attempt was blocked by defensive tackle Shelby Harris. Cornerback Greg Newsome II recovered the ball and returned it to midfield, giving the Browns prime field position and momentum heading into the final seconds of regulation.
With two seconds left, rookie kicker Andre Szmyt lined up for a 55-yard field goal attempt and nailed it as time expired, sealing the thrilling 13–10 win. Szmyt’s clutch kick erased the memory of earlier misses in the season and gave Cleveland a morale-boosting victory to build on moving forward.
