Minnesota dominated Cincinnati 48–10 at U.S. Bank Stadium, securing their first win of the season in emphatic fashion. The Vikings’ offense and defense were in sync from the opening snap, while the Bengals struggled to find any rhythm, suffering their worst loss in franchise history.
The Vikings’ defense was historic, led by cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, who became the first player in NFL history to force two fumbles and score two defensive touchdowns in a single game. Rodgers returned an interception 87 yards and a fumble 66 yards for scores, accounting for 31 points off turnovers and swinging momentum decisively in Minnesota’s favor.
On offense, quarterback Carson Wentz managed the game efficiently, throwing for 173 yards and two touchdowns before exiting early. Running back Jordan Mason added 116 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and tight end T.J. Hockenson caught a 5-yard touchdown pass, giving the Vikings a balanced attack that kept the Bengals off balance throughout.
Special teams also played a memorable role, as kicker Will Reichard drilled a 62-yard field goal just before halftime, setting a new franchise record for the longest field goal in Vikings history. That kick capped a dominant first half, with Minnesota leading 34–3 and leaving Cincinnati with little chance to recover.
The Bengals, missing star quarterback Joe Burrow due to a toe injury, struggled to generate offense behind backup Jake Browning. Browning threw for 140 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, and also lost three fumbles. Cincinnati must address these turnover issues quickly if they hope to remain competitive for the rest of the season.
