The NFC West rivalry lit up State Farm Stadium as the Seattle Seahawks escaped with a dramatic 23–20 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4 of the 2025–26 NFL season. Arizona struck first with a Chad Ryland 33-yard field goal, but Seattle quickly seized momentum. Sam Darnold led a precise 77-yard drive, capping it with a 16-yard touchdown pass to AJ Barner. Zach Charbonnet added a bruising 1-yard score just before halftime, sending Seattle into the locker room with a 14–3 lead and a clear upper hand.
The third quarter turned into a defensive grind. Jason Myers extended Seattle’s lead with a 44-yard field goal, only for Arizona Cardinals to respond with a massive 57-yard kick from Ryland, reminding everyone that the game was far from over. Seattle’s pass rush kept Kyler Murray off balance, racking up six sacks and forcing two interceptions, but the Cardinals’ defense also tightened, giving their offense enough chances to stay alive heading into the fourth quarter.
Seattle appeared to put the game away early in the final period when Myers connected again, making it 20–6. But Kyler Murray flipped the script with a furious late-game rally. He first hit Marvin Harrison Jr. for a 16-yard touchdown with under six minutes left, then orchestrated a two-minute drill that ended with a 7-yard strike to Emari Demercado, tying the game 20–20 with just 28 seconds to play. The Cardinals’ sideline erupted, believing they had forced overtime.
What followed was the turning point of the night — a botched Arizona kickoff under the new NFL rules handed Seattle Seahawks the ball at their own 40. Darnold wasted no time, hitting Jaxon Smith-Njigba for 22 yards to get into range. As time expired, Jason Myers calmly drilled a 52-yard game-winner, silencing the home crowd and preserving Seattle’s winning streak against Arizona, now stretched to eight games.
Darnold finished 18-of-26 for 242 yards with a touchdown, while Kenneth Walker III rushed for 81 yards to keep the Seahawks’ offense balanced. Jaxon Smith-Njigba led Seattle’s receivers with 79 yards and was instrumental on the final drive. Despite the loss, Murray threw for two late scores and nearly completed a stunning comeback, proving Arizona’s resilience. But the Cardinals’ special teams blunder overshadowed the rally, leaving them at 1–3 and still seeking a way to turn late-game heartbreak into victories.
